The term AAPI (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders) is often used as a blanket label for a diverse group of people with different cultural backgrounds, languages, and traditions 🤔.
While it may seem like a convenient way to refer to a large group of individuals, it can also be detrimental to the uniqueness of each community 🤷♂️.
Using this term can erase the distinct experiences and struggles of each Asian American community and create a homogenized image of what it means to be Asian in America 🙅♀️.
It's important to acknowledge and celebrate the diversity within the Asian American community to better understand and respect each individual's unique experiences and perspectives 🌟.
