The Creation of an Asian-American Doll: A Journey with Elenor Mak

Elenor Mak has a vision, a dream if you will.

She wants to create a doll that truly represents the rich diversity of the Asian-American community. 🎎

No one-size-fits-all approach for her. She's not interested in diluting the unique identities that make up this vibrant community.

Enter Jilly, a doll that's more than just a plaything. She's a symbol of the future we want for our children. 🌟

For too long, Asian-American girls have been boxed into stereotypes - the demure, the dainty, the math nerd. But Jilly breaks these molds. She's energetic, feisty, and yes, even a little bossy. She's a food lover who's as quick to start a food fight as she is to cuddle. 🍜

In Jilly, Elenor sees the spirit of all children, but particularly that of Asian-American children, a spirit that's been overlooked for far too long.

Through Jilly, Elenor hopes to change that narrative, one doll at a time.
