Kyle Shin chose the name "Son of Paper" as a tribute to the term "paper sons" and "paper daughters", which refers to the difficulty of immigrating to the United States during the Chinese Exclusion Act (1882-1965). 📜
One of the only ways to bypass the racist quotas at the time was to purchase a fake identity, known as a "paper." 📄
By using this name in his artistry, he hopes to keep this important history alive and educate others about it when they ask. 🎨
